Circle Jump!

Today we put on a circle necklace and marched and danced around collecting circle shaped objects and yelling out "circle!".  We found the lid to the top of a popcorn container from Christmas, coins, an old baby toy, a candle lid, a , a hair elastic, and a plate.  We probably could have marched for a lot longer, but we were running out of hands.

Then we came back and spread them out.  My two year old then jumped from object to object.  "Hurry!  Jump to the big circle!  Fly to the green one!"  (we are at an age where flying makes everything way cooler).

He also discovered that if you group all of the coin circles together and jump on them, they make noise.  So that was cool.

Then we read a book that had circles in it.

And if he takes a nap for me, we might go downstairs, turn out the lights, and make up some glowstick circles.  Glow in the dark circle jump!  But only if he takes a nap :)

A little background

I love Pinterest.  It inspires me.  It gives me things to dream about.  I've even tried out some of my pins and found new favorite recipes or products or activities that I now can't live without.

But for every one pin I do try out and love, there are usually one hundred others that I really do intend to try... eventually.... one day.... When life slows down?!

A lot of the ideas for kid activities are sooooooo cute.  But also so time consuming.  Or they require a special trip to the store.  Or they are messy play, which is cool in theory, but seriously---

WE DON'T NEED ANY HELP IN THAT DEPARTMENT.  My toddler has us covered.  He could probably teach classes.  And charge a lot of money.  And he would have waiting lists.  And would be the talk of all the toddlers, who would see how awesome and fun he is.  Apparently some toddlers don't actually like getting messy???? So maybe all those messy pins are for their moms.  But we're good.

I'm creating this blog to save play ideas that work for us and that are easy, so that when we have our next kids we won't have to reinvent the wheel.
